　　除新鲜这一特色外，在天马活鱼城还可吃到不同种类不同烹制方法和不同口味特色的活鱼。红烧桂鱼、油炸嫩仔鱼、湘江鱼头王、水煮活鱼等，你想得到和想不到的各种鱼的新老吃法在这里都可品尝得到。其中，尤以一款名为“石锅鱼”的菜式著名，深受广大食客的喜爱。

　　“石锅鱼”作为湘菜中的一道名菜，其制作方法很是独特，用一块大的花岗岩岩石凿成有双耳的石锅，将鱼放在石锅内烹煎，然后，再加上以辣椒为主的各式佐料，又再加上一些滋补药材，这样，经过一番复杂的烹调工序的操作流程之后，一锅“石锅鱼”诞生了。当用石锅烹制的“石锅鱼”端上桌来时，一定会令你垂涎三尺。“石锅鱼”也叫“金福鱼”。关于“石锅鱼”的名气来历，还有一段典故。说的是清初康熙年间，长沙湘江河畔，有一家小店擅长做一道“石锅鱼”，风味独特。康熙皇帝微服下江南时，在这间小店尝了这道菜，感觉味道鲜美无比，龙颜大悦，故欣然提笔将这道菜赋名为“金福鱼”。此后，“石锅鱼”也就变成“金福鱼”了，而这家小店也因此得名为“金福林”。皇帝在“金福林”用过膳，名气当然也就不同了，从此“金福林”也就名满天下。

　　天马活鱼城的这款“石锅鱼”也是名不虚传。在古朴而又显大气的特制石锅内，煎得焦黄喷香的鱼无时无刻不在引导你的唾液急剧分泌，那红通通的辣椒、翠绿绿的香菜、还有其它一些富于营养的佐料和鱼香交融在一起，就这样引诱着你旺盛的食欲，令人有“欲罢不能”之感，连那煎得脆脆的鱼骨和浓浓的鱼汤也舍不得放过。川、湘结合的烹制手法，忽略麻而突出辣，在辣上又根据不同食客的不同需求分别设置了“浓辣”、“浅辣”和“不辣”三种不同的口味，大、中、小三种不同的份量让食客的选择更是随心所欲。
